GAB appears at Hartford Velocity Girls Softball Tournament To Stomp Out Bullying.

These are the young girls that had managed to win the 2nd Annual Hartford Velocity Girls Softball Tournament To Stomp Out Bullying. Before claiming their medals, the girls gathered around GAB representative James Dean, who spoke about why girls baseball is special to him.

His mother, Eileen Burmeister Dean aka “Burmy”, was an original member of the Rockford Peaches, a team that may sound familiar to some since this team was portrayed in the movie “A League of Their Own”. A brief segment from her player card mentions that “She was a versatile player in the early years of the league and was talented enough to play whichever position needed to be filled in.”

James encouraged the girls to continue to improve their skills.

“Some day you may star in a baseball movie of your own.”
