Staff Volunteer

With a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and after living in and out of Chicago for the past five years, Sahara has a sufficient amount of experience working in the hospitality industry as well as with non-profit organizations.

Sahara attended Arizona State University for two years and then graduated in the top 3% of her class from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Not only has she worked in sales and the restaurant industry for over ten years, she also has experience working in the convention industry in Chicago and as an executive assistant, codeveloper, and co-writer of the business plan for a social media start-up company where she was a member of the Executive, Due Diligence, and Investor Presentation boards

As the only recipient of the Kiwanis Key Club Scholarship Award in her graduating high school class, Sahara remains passionate about helping others. She has volunteered with numerous nonprofits throughout the Midwest as well as overseas. Sahara was the lead special events intern in 2010 and a youth counselor in 2014 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater Illinois Chapter. She loves to combine her passion for traveling the world with her love of helping others. In 2013, Sahara spent time helping to rebuild houses and schools in the Philippines after Typhoon Yolanda and also spent time teaching English to the underprivileged in Guatemala.

A native of Wisconsin, Sahara has traveled to over 60 countries, mostly solo yet filled with countless epic adventures. She has reached six continents and has plans to continue her travels in hopes of one day touching down in Antarctica. As two Scholastic Gold Key Awards, a First-Place Award holder, a Best-in-Show Award winner, and as the Wisconsin Guest Artist in 2006, Sahara loves to use her creativity and artistic abilities to help others through therapy and self-expression. With her love for children and her care for helping others, Sahara hopes to make a difference in the world by using the knowledge and experiences she obtained while traveling, her innate creativity, and the skills and abilities she has developed working in the corporate world.
