ACCOUNTING
Job Description
Accounting Internship (Volunteer)

Project Summary:
Generations Against Bullying (GAB) is seeking a skilled accounting intern to assist in providing accounting support to office operations.

About GAB: GAB is a non-profit organization that brings a community of children, parents, administrators, educators, businesses, and local law enforcement together, to work out solutions to put an end to bullying. We work closely with mental health professionals to help victims, and the bully, to reduce the emotional scarring that comes from the lasting effects of bullying. We want to take an active role to stop bullying, help the perpetrator, and provide an outlet for the victim. Our programs are intended to increase the self-esteem and empathy of both the victim and the perpetrator. The vision for GAB is to provide a safe, positive environment for all children and teaching students and schools how to be Upstanders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reconciling general ledger accounts
• Roll forward analysis of balance sheet accounts
• Monthly financial statement review and analysis
• Assist with general accounting month-end closing procedures
• Provide clerical support for sales tax reporting
• Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned

Qualifications:
• Trained and/or experienced in secretarial/clerical and communications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, and other software
• Type quickly (>50 WPM)
• Well organized, analytical and detail-oriented, and have excellent time management skills

We work closely with mental health professionals to help victims, and the bully, to reduce the emotional scarring that comes from the lasting effects of bullying. • Work closely with GAB office personnel in administrative duties
• Keep the calendar up-to-date and remind staff of upcoming appointments & events
• Assist team in a supportive capacity on tasks

Job Description
Criminal Justice Internship (Volunteer)

Project Summary:
Generations Against Bullying (GAB) is seeking a skilled criminal justice intern to assist in ongoing research of current law(s) and how bullying & cyber-bullying are being handled by law enforcement agencies.

About GAB: GAB is a non-profit organization that brings a community of children, parents, administrators, educators, businesses, and local law enforcement together, to work out solutions to put an end to bullying. We work closely with mental health professionals to help victims, and the bully, to reduce the emotional scarring that comes from the lasting effects of bullying. We want to take an active role to stop bullying, help the perpetrator, and provide an outlet for the victim. Our programs are intended to increase the self-esteem and empathy of both the victim and the perpetrator. The vision for GAB is to provide a safe, positive environment for all children and teaching students and schools how to be Upstanders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Legal research regarding bullying/cyberbullying on how it is dealt with currently in the criminal justice system (laws, regulations, SOP, best practices, etc.)
• Tracking and recording statistics on bullying, cyber-bullying, bullycide and related topics
• Other activities that may be needed
• Work closely with GAB research project team on keeping current on statistics and law’s related to bullying/cyberbullying

Qualifications:
• Trained and/or experienced in criminal justice, law and research
• Must have a computer to research statistics and laws related to bullying/cyberbullying
• Must be willing to complete some research at a local library
• Extremely organized, analytical and detail-oriented, and have excellent time management skills

We work closely with mental health professionals to help victims, and the bully, to reduce the emotional scarring that comes from the lasting effects of bullying. We want to take an active role to stop bullying, help the perpetrator, and provide an outlet for the victim. Our programs are intended to increase the self-esteem and empathy of both the victim and the perpetrator. Software skills are required, as well as Internet research abilities and strong communication skills. Google Drive, Facebook and Constant Contact knowledge is helpful.

Grant Writer Internship

Project Details:
Research available grants and write proposal, fill out applications, compile required documentation and prepare other requirements from foundation/organization giving grants, send all documents, correspond with contact persons as needed to ensure successful approval of as many grants as possible and document all results, as well as stewarding grant sources as needed.

• Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants.
• Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.
• Work with finance to gather information necessary to report to corporate/foundation funders on current grant programs.
• Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.
• Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.

Qualifications
• Relevant experience and/or education for grant writing for a non-profit
• Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research
• Skills using relevant software for the position

• Coordinate the development and production of internal and external publications, promotional materials, and communications, including web-based communications and social media outlets; and edit, proofread, and design materials as needed.
• Review and select vendors for advertising and production of promotional materials.
• Evaluate marketing efforts for effectiveness.
• Assist with strategic planning for assigned areas.
• Work closely with GAB office personnel, social media team, graphic designer, videographer and webmaster, and event organizer

Generations Against Bullying (GAB) is seeking a skilled mental health/social welfare intern to assist in ongoing research on how mental health departments are handling bullying.

About GAB: GAB is a non-profit organization that brings a community of children, parents, administrators, educators, businesses, and local law enforcement together, to work out solutions to put an end to bullying. We work closely with mental health professionals to help victims, and the bully, to reduce the emotional scarring that comes from the lasting effects of bullying. We want to take an active role to stop bullying, help the perpetrator, and provide an outlet for the victim. Our programs are intended to increase the self-esteem and empathy of both the victim and the perpetrator. The vision for GAB is to provide a safe, positive environment for all children and teaching students and schools how to be Upstanders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Research the statistics of individuals being treated by mental health physicians that have been or are currently being bullied, or are bullies or supporters of bullies
• Work closely with GAB project team in researching how individuals’ mental health and social welfare is being affected by bullying and how mental health professions are handling patients being seen for bullying
• Other activities that may be needed

Qualifications:
• Experienced and/or educated in mental health and/or social welfare
• Must be willing to possibly interview individuals in the mental health field on how individuals are affected mentally/socially by being bullied
• Sensitive to victims’ needs and able to interview them in an appropriate manner
• Extremely organized, analytical and detail-oriented, and have excellent time management skills
• Able to work independently as well as in a team, and flexible to changes
• Able to define priorities and work within deadlines

Communications

Communications
• Communicate with various schools throughout Wisconsin.
• Respond to National email inquiries.
• Prepare and mail out Thank You letters, Certificates of Appreciation.
• Corresponds with schools regarding services we provide. (Movie Night, Posters, 10-minute DVD, Puppet Show, Guest Speakers)

Events
• Help with planning of Fundraising events.
• Attend GAB Events when available.

Constant Contact
• Create and send out Newsletters, Press Releases, Special Event communications.
• Create and update contact lists

Google Drive and Calendar
• Maintain and update folders, make sure all documents are in the drive and in proper folders.
• Maintain Website Calendar

Facebook
• Monitor Facebook page, update regularly with GAB activities and events.

Peer Ambassadors
• Field communications between Peer Ambassadors and GAB staff.
• Attend Peer Ambassador Trainings when available.

Lists
• Maintain all Board Member, Community Volunteer and Peer Ambassador Lists.
• Keep Sponsor lists current.

UPSTANDER PEER AMBASSADOR COORDINATOR

Upstander Peer Ambassador Coordinator Internship (Volunteer)

Position:
Upstander Peer Ambassador Coordinator Intern

Description:
This is a person with a passion to help our young Upstander Peer Ambassadors develop a positive character by promoting self-worth, dignity, and compassion. Learning GAB’s Upstander Peer Program will provide the intern tools and knowledge to develop the non-threatening skills necessary to defuse a bullying situation. Learn how teach the importance Peers need to treat each other despite cultural and physical differences, as well as help them experience a wonderful, long-lasting connection of friendship and respect with our young adults.
Interns will gain exposure to GAB’s unique, non-profit, community based, anti-bullying model (GAB will provide a short workshop as needed). Their experience will include teamwork, marketing, community outreach, and use of various social media.

The commitment that is desired is someone who can commit to once a month meeting of about 1 ½ hrs. during the school year (9months). Interns may want to attend other Upstander Peer Ambassador special events when they occur.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate monthly Upstander Peer Ambassador meetings.
• Research, develop, and maintain materials, statistics for monthly training sessions.
• Help facilitate Upstander Peer meetings, including distributing the agenda and materials.
• Schedule and assist in Upstander Peer Event planning.

Qualifications:
• Enthusiasm for the mission of Generations Against Bullying and helping children
• A professional appearance and attitude
• An ability to lead and guide young adults
• Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space
• An effective communicator, both written, and oral, with an excellent ability to listen
• Ability to stay on task
• Computer literate
• Understanding of psychology, a plus

PROGRAM CURRICULUM AND DEVELOPER
Job Description
Program Curriculum and Developer Internship (Volunteer)

Project Summary:
Generations Against Bullying (GAB) is seeking a skilled Program Curriculum and Developer Intern to assist in coordinating and developing teaching strategies for our Upstander Peer Ambassador program that is used to help raise awareness of our vision.

About GAB: GAB is a non-profit organization that brings a community of children, parents, administrators, educators, businesses, and local law enforcement together, to work out solutions to put an end to bullying. We work closely with mental health professionals to help victims, and the bully, to reduce the emotional scarring that comes from the lasting effects of bullying. We want to take an active role to stop bullying, help the perpetrator, and provide an outlet for the victim. Our programs are intended to increase the self-esteem and empathy of both the victim and the perpetrator. The vision for GAB is to provide a safe, positive environment for all children and teaching students and schools how to be Upstanders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in designing and developing curriculum content, training materials and training modules for our anti-bullying Upstander programs to be used by educators and advisors
• Other activities that may be needed
• Work closely with GAB office personnel in administrative duties

Qualifications:
• Trained and/or educated in curriculum development
• Proficient in overall understanding of teaching strategies and child/teen psychology
• Extremely organized, analytical and detail-oriented, and have excellent time management skills
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Able to define priorities and work within deadlines
• Punctual, diligent, honest and reliable
• Pleasant with others on the job and display a good-natured, cooperative attitude.

SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

Social Media Specialist Internship (Volunteer)

Project Summary:
Generations Against Bullying (GAB) is seeking a skilled Social Media Specialist to manage GAB’s overall presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+ and others, often using Buffer, and effectively execute social media strategies that support GAB’s audience.

About GAB: GAB is a non-profit organization that brings a community of children, parents, administrators, educators, businesses, and local law enforcement together, to work out solutions to put an end to bullying. We work closely with mental health professionals to help victims, and the bully, to reduce the emotional scarring that comes from the lasting effects of bullying. We want to take an active role to stop bullying, help the perpetrator, and provide an outlet for the victim. Our programs are intended to increase the self-esteem and empathy of both the victim and the perpetrator. The vision for GAB is to provide a safe, positive environment for all children and teaching students and schools how to be Upstanders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Update and maintain GAB’s blog and social media with day-to-day activities
• Monitoring links and pages on sites regularly to ensure that information is current and functional.
• Assist and oversee the management, creation, development, and delivery of GAB’s social programs
• Run regular fundraising drives via social media, our website, email and crowdfunding sites
• Manage online discussions by paying close attention to what the users are saying, reading discussion forums, and responding in a timely manner to the user’s needs, as well soliciting input from volunteers, members and followers to make sure we’re in tune with them
• Work closely with GAB office personnel and webmaster

Qualifications:
• Must be trained in various social media platforms and, preferably, experienced with Buffer, and most social media, as well as Constant Contact and other software
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities and interact with a wide range of people
• Extremely organized, analytical and detail-oriented, and have excellent time management skills
• Able to work independently as well as in a team, and flexible to changes
• Able to define priorities and work within deadlines

Videographer Internship (Volunteer)

Project Summary:
Generations Against Bullying (GAB) is seeking a skilled videographer intern to assist in ongoing development of our organization’s website and promotional videos to help raise awareness of our vision.

About GAB: GAB is a non-profit organization that brings a community of children, parents, administrators, educators, businesses, and local law enforcement together, to work out solutions to put an end to bullying. We work closely with mental health professionals to help victims, and the bully, to reduce the emotional scarring that comes from the lasting effects of bullying. We want to take an active role to stop bullying, help the perpetrator, and provide an outlet for the victim. Our programs are intended to increase the self-esteem and empathy of both the victim and the perpetrator. The vision for GAB is to provide a safe, positive environment for all children and teaching students and schools how to be Upstanders.

• Create and edit master videos for publication on social media and GAB website
• Organize raw footage from disc and camera cards to make short videos
• Communicate and coordinate with webmaster, and assist as needed
• Work closely with GAB project team to translate their messaging concepts into marketing videos

• Skill with video editing software, and the ability to edit, copy and transfer videos

Generations Against Bullying (GAB) is seeking a skilled website designer to help create amazing user experiences. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful web design and have knowledge of WordPress.

We work closely with mental health professionals to help victims, and the bully, to reduce the emotional scarring that comes from the lasting effects of bullying. We want to take an active role to stop bullying, help the perpetrator, and provide an outlet for the victim. Our programs are intended to increase the self-esteem and empathy of both the victim and the perpetrator. Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintaining, modifying and updating WordPress-based site
• Website design, development, tweaking and management (front and back-end)
• Improve and maintain content and search-engine rankings (SEO)
• Communicate and coordinate regularly with webmaster (and others) as pro-bono assistant
• Monitor company’s online reputation and look for ways to improve it

Qualifications:
• Experienced and/or trained in Front-end, Back-end and mobile-first web development
• Experience with web development tools and WordPress, web analytics tools and concepts
• Creative in web design and layout
• Excellent attention to details, spelling and grammar
• Excellent written & oral communication skills are required along with the ability to establish good working relationships with a wide variety of people.
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
• Extremely organized, analytical and detail-oriented, and have excellent time management skills
